YOGA with Hana 

Hello, welcome to my website. 

My name is Hana Kortegaard, and I am a yoga teacher and a personal coach based in Aarhus, Denmark, where I live together with my husband Christian and our son Adam.

Yoga provides me with balance in my everyday, it helps me to be flexible and strong both mentally and physically, to be aware, and to find a place of tranquillity within, while navigating through the chaotic and ever-evolving environments we live in.

I believe that regular yoga practice, as well as constructive and intuitive (self)questioning have a profound impact on our lives and overall well-being. And that is why I like to hold a space for listening, inspiration, and personal development based on reflection, introspection, and (mind-body) dialogue. 

My approach is simple, practical, and down to earth.

YOM YOGA on/off the mat

YOM stands for yoga on/off the mat. It reminds us that yoga is not just a workout we do on the yoga mat, but a set of physical, mental, and spiritual practices that help us to cultivate our state of being as we go through life.

 

YOUR YOGA EXPERIENCE

You will experience active physical movement, as well as a meditative space for deep rest and contemplation. Together, we will shape the practice to your needs while drawing on the following teachings:

HATHA VINYASA YOGA is a physical practice based on asanas (postures) and pranayama (controlled breathing), hands-on assists, and guided relaxation.

YOGA NIDRA is a guided meditation, a relaxation practice, and a potent meditative resource for healing, empowerment, personal and spiritual growth, known as yogic sleep.

 

Practice

Choose the course that works for you...

This course is for you if you want to establish your yoga practice from scratch. It is your first time on the yoga mat, or you tried it before, but want to make sure you got the basics right - I do not mean right as picture-perfect, but right in a sense that the pose takes shape from you being present in the body.

You will learn basic hatha yoga postures, breath work and how to move with the breath from pose to pose in a flow. You will learn Sun Salutation A and Moon Salutation. We will focus on alignment – how to embody the poses safely (and how to use props – yoga bricks etc.) so that you get a good foundation of how vinyasa practice works and feel confident practicing home as well.

The class will have a slower pace, but you will be challenged physically – building strength and flexibility, as much as mentally – working with focus and concentration. And yes, there will also be time to rest and recharge through yoga sleep.

My goal is to provide a safe space for you to explore not just what you can do on the yoga mat, but also what yoga can „do for you”. Sounds like a great starting point? Yes, I would say so! J

This course is for you if you are seeking a more dynamic yoga form, have a basic foundation and want to develop it further. We will go through Sun Salutation A and B, Moon Salutation, and practice sequences adjusted to your wishes and needs – so that you can sense that you are progressing on your own path.

You will need some strength and ability to move from the core, so that you can move (and flow) through the sequences with more ease and less effort. You are not expected to be a master of twists, deep backbends or inversions (and if you are that’s great!), but you are willing to also “give it a try”, practice and learn.

The sessions will be vigorous and challenging, as much as light-hearted and meditative. All in all, you should be leaving each session tired physically, refreshed mentally and uplifted spiritually.

This course is 60% Hatha Flow and 40% Yoga Nidra and it’s suitable and open for everyone! But it is especially for you if you like to move with the breath in a meditative pace, holding poses a little longer (taking several rounds of breath in each) and taking a good time to rest, reconnect and recharge through Yoga Nidra.

Yoga Nidra (often translated as yogic sleep) is a guided relaxation and a potent meditative source for healing, empowerment, personal and spiritual growth. Arising from the state of deep relaxation (not sleeping) and open awareness, this transformative practice allows for profound insights, greater general wellbeing and experience of real connection.

It is a real treat for the whole of you!

When: Wednesdays 13.10. to 15.12 - 10 sessions 

Time: 19.30 - 20.45

Price: 1.250 kr. / 1.050 kr. students
